Dan Ralph That photo you have labled "MAIN STREET ... SOMEWHERE." is still 'downtown' Pontiex at the south end of the main street. When Judy and I go to Sask, we go to Pambrun, a miniscule hamlet north of Pontiex. Believe it or not, Pontiex is the 'BIG' town in the area. On Saturday mornings we may make the 40 or so minute drive south to Pontiex to have a good hearty breakfast at the little café located at the far end of that same picture on the left side about where the red truck is parked. We drove slowly through the town one day and I got some wonderful evocative pictures of ancient trucks, deserted houses for sale, and abandoned buildings. When we were there the town was in the throes of trying to lure retired people back with some pretty good incentives, like lowered tax rates, and priority with building permits, etc. Actually, not at all a bad place to retire. (If you can stand the prairie winters.) :o)>
